MAKE NOISE -
SOUND THE TRUMPET!
The message from the prophet Joel is as relevant today as it was several thousand years ago. Joel foretells catastrophic events and admonishes the people to make noise and rededicate themselves to serving a good purpose (the Will of God).
Blow the ram’s horn, Sound the alarm from the highest point… Consecrate the fast – dedicate your fasting to a worthy purpose… and do not let it be said “God is unrevealed in you.”

The challenge for us is to not remain silent as we navigate a sea teeming with widespread and systemic oppression and injustice. We must look within ourselves and find the resolve to overcome the bigotry and hate that ebbs and flows within our communities. Now is not the time to be complacent; today, and each day forward, we must actively pursue a living faith that reflects to our true core values. Our “silence encourages the tormentor” (Elie Wiesel) – Now is the time to make joyful noise that brings peace to our community, our country and our world.
